Totems and Crates Tier List

Totems are the placeable multipliers in Nuke a City. They are not droppers. They do not fill EXP. They sit on your personal plot and change how much a Control launch is worth after the blast. Crates are how most of them arrive: the BOOM crate, playtime totem crates, and paid army crates. This list answers where the next totem slot should go, not which vehicle looks like a war movie.

Machine ranks stay on the machines tier list. Research caps that raise totem limits live on the research tier list. Land that makes room for more clutter is plot expand.

How slots work

Community clips show a small number of totem slots on the base (often talked about as a handful, not an infinite army). Research can raise the cap. If a slot is full of a 1.5x trinket while an 8x money totem is in inventory, you ranked wrong. Place the highest money multiplier you own. Park turrets and robots in leftover slots if they still print. Do not cover the rocket interact or the dropper prompt; a totem that blocks Control is D-tier even if the tooltip says 25x.

Totems are generally treated as account objects that survive a rebirth wipe of machines and cash. Timed crate boosts do not. Open lasting totems when you can place them. Open duration boosts at the start of a session you will play, never at logout. Offline fill will not spend a timed buff for you.

S — money totems you actually place

Free group totem. Several 2026 videos show a 3x money (sometimes quoted 4.5x) totem for joining the Nuclear Fun group and sometimes liking or favoriting the experience. That is the cheapest S-tier object in the game. Do it on a new plot before you buy an army crate. It is not a code. Do not type the group name into ABX.

High money multipliers from crates. Playtime totem crates (cheap rows near 5 points, better rows near 15 in player talk) and army crates can roll 8x, 25x, or higher money pieces — missile trucks, tanks, “brain rot” pets, depending on the crate art that week. S means the multiplier is money, the slot is free, and you fire this session. A 25x truck you never place is a screenshot.

A — army crates when Robux or tokens are already burning

Army crates (Robux developer products in many clips, sometimes playtime tokens) drop military toys: Humvees, missile trucks, tanks, rare helicopters. They are A when you already have nuclear funded and a free slot. They are a trap when you still need plot expand cash. Gamepasses that auto-launch do not replace a 25x totem. Totems multiply the blast you fire. Auto launch only fires it.

B — playtime crates and mid multipliers

Playtime points come from sitting in a server and from BOOM. Spending them on a totem crate is B: good if the slot is empty, worse than saving points for a research-adjacent unlock if you are still on the free dropper. Radar, mushrooms, sentries, and robots show up in noob-to-max videos. They are B support. They are not a reason to skip dropper levels.

C — flavor pieces and duplicate low rolls

A second 1.5x when you already placed an 8x is C. Cosmetic army clutter that blocks the fuse machine is C. Opening a crate in the last ten seconds before rebirth is C unless you know the item persists and you have a slot after the wipe.

D — timed boosts at logout, and covering the pad

Popping a duration money boost and then closing Roblox is D. Placing a totem on the rocket so Control never appears is D. Buying an army crate instead of nuclear on a fresh expand is D. Scripts that auto-open crates are D for a different reason: ToS.

Session order

  1. Redeem BOOM if unclaimed.
  2. Grab the free group totem if you do not have it.
  3. Launch any 100 EXP bag.
  4. Place the highest money totem in a slot that does not cover interact.
  5. Open playtime crates only if a slot is still empty or the roll is clearly better.
  6. Save army crates for after nuclear exists.

Use this page as a slot list. Use how to make money as the launch list. Totems do not fill EXP. They make the crater you already earned pay more.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best totem in Nuke a City?

The highest money multiplier you can actually place. Start with the free group totem, then crate money pieces. Full ranks are on this totems tier list.

Do totems survive rebirth?

Players treat placed totems as account objects that persist while machines and cash wipe. Timed crate boosts do not. Confirm before you statue-press; see rebirth.

Is the army crate worth Robux?

Only after nuclear is funded and you have a slot. Army crates are A-tier convenience, not a substitute for plot expand. Robux shop context is on gamepasses.

Should I open the BOOM crate at logout?

No if it is a timed boost. Open lasting totems when you can place them. Offline fill will not spend a duration buff. See offline progress.

How many totems can I place?

A small cap, raised by research in player reports. Do not fill slots with tiny multipliers. Research order is on the research tier list.
