How to Fuse Explosives in Nuke a City

Insert a filled explosive, wait out the fuse, and spend the doubled EXP on a Control launch instead of a thin rocket.

How to Fuse Explosives

The fuse machine is the side factory in Nuke a City (Roblox listing: Nuke Your City by Nuclear Fun). Droppers create explosives. The rocket spends them. Fuse sits between those two jobs: you insert an explosive, wait, and get a fatter EXP value back. That extra EXP is the whole point. Cash still comes from Control launches at 100 EXP, not from the fuse pad glowing. If you came here because a video said “secret OP fuse,” read this page before you lock your only ready warhead in a queue you cannot cancel.

Pair this with Getting Started if you still have only the free manual dropper, and with plot expand once the fuse pad is even on your land. Rank versus nuclear lives on the machines tier list.

What fuse actually does

Community playthroughs treat fuse as a double-XP step. You interact with the machine, seat an explosive, and wait. The wait is the tax. Early fuse is slow enough that a hungry dropper plus a 100 EXP launch often prints more cash than babysitting one locked explosive. Upgrades shorten that wait. Creators show fuse times dropping toward roughly 30–40 seconds after you spend on the pad. That is a player-reported range, not a Nuclear Fun patch table.

A second language shows up in long videos: a fuse chain on the nuke itself, with a practical cap in the low 20s. That chain is not the same object as the insert-and-wait machine, but it is the same idea — extra EXP processing that stalls if you keep dumping cash after the cap. Do not confuse “I fused this bag” with “I leveled the rocket fuse to 23.” One is a job on the pad. The other is a long upgrade row.

When fuse is worth the lock

Fuse is a B–C tool on the tier list. It wins when:

  • Your best dropper already fills faster than you can launch.
  • You have a spare explosive, not your only 100 EXP warhead.
  • The wait is short enough that you can still press Control on cooldown.
  • You are not about to rebirth and wipe the machine anyway.

Fuse loses when the nuclear dropper is still cheap after plot expand. A doubled starter explosive is still a starter explosive. Nuclear fill plus a clean 100 EXP launch beats a fancy fuse on a weak bag. If the shop is flashing fuse levels while nuclear is unbought, you are decorating the wrong pad.

How to run one fuse without griefing yourself

  1. Fill an explosive on the dropper or fountain. Aim for a bar you can afford to park.
  2. Walk it to the fuse machine and interact. Confirm the prompt is your pad, not a neighbor’s on the 6-player server.
  3. Let the wait finish. Do not wander into shop UI that covers the collect prompt.
  4. Take the fused explosive to the rocket. Launch at 100 EXP with Control. Steer at buildings.
  5. Spend the cash on the producer that made the bag, not on a second fuse you will ignore.

Some clips show players inserting the same explosive more than once, or stacking mutations after a fuse. Treat those as video tricks, not a required loop. If a second insert fails or voids the bag, you paid the wait for nothing. One fuse, one launch is the honest cadence.

Fuse versus idle, crates, and scripts

Offline growth already fills explosives while you are logged out. Fuse does not run offline. Parking a bag in the machine and closing the client is how you donate a wait to nobody. Finish the fuse in-session, or do not start it.

Crates and totems multiply cash after a launch. Fuse multiplies EXP before a launch. They stack, but they are not substitutes. Opening a crate boost while a fuse is still cooking is fine. Opening a timed boost and then AFK-ing through a long fuse is a waste.

Community auto farm GUIs often advertise auto-fuel. That is not the same as a smart fuse. A script that shoves every bag into fuse will lock your 100 EXP rocket behind a queue. Prefer the real HUD. If you still automate, read how to execute and accept the ban risk.

Common fuse mistakes

  • Fusing the only ready 100 EXP explosive while the rocket sits empty.
  • Buying fuse levels before the nuclear dropper exists.
  • Standing on another player’s fuse pad on a shared-city server.
  • Treating a YouTube “duplicate fuse” clip as a supported mechanic.
  • Rebirthing with a bag still inside the machine.

The upgrade planner puts fuse after nuclear and after a money-research node. Use that order. Fuse is how you turn leftover fill into a fatter Control shot. It is not how you skip Getting Started.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Does the fuse machine double EXP in Nuke a City?

Community runs treat it as a double-XP insert-and-wait. Time drops toward about 30–40 seconds after upgrades. Confirm on your pad; details and when to skip it are on this fuse guide.

Should I fuse before I buy the nuclear dropper?

Usually no. Expand and fund nuclear first. Fuse is a support pad. See plot expand and the machines tier list.

Does fuse keep working offline?

No. Offline fill is dropper growth, documented on offline progress. A bag left in fuse does not cook while you are logged out.

Is fuse the same as the rocket fuse chain?

No. The machine processes one explosive. The rocket fuse chain is a long upgrade row that caps in the low 20s in player reports. Do not dump cash into the chain after it stalls.

Can a script auto-fuse for me?

Some auto-farm GUIs claim auto fuel. That can trap your only 100 EXP bag. Prefer how to launch by hand, or read the ToS warning on scripts.
