Getting Started in Nuke a City

First hour on a plot: free dropper, first launch, BOOM, and when expand is worth it.

Getting Started

Your first hour in Nuke a City (the Roblox listing Nuke Your City by Nuclear Fun) is a short factory lesson, not a raid. You load into a six-player server, claim a personal plot, and share one city with whoever else is online. The free manual dropper fills an explosive toward 100 EXP. You load that explosive into the rocket, press Control, collect cash, and buy the next upgrade. Offline filling keeps working after you leave, so you do not have to stand on the pad until midnight. This page is the spawn-to-first-expand path; launch physics live on How to Launch a Nuke, and the button layout lives on Controls and HUD.

Claim a plot and learn the pads

Walk onto an open base as soon as the server finishes loading. Interact with the claim prompt so the dropper, rocket, and shop belong to you. Other players have their own plots; they are not split-screen partners and they do not share your cash. If interact does nothing, you are facing the wrong pad or standing on someone else’s floor. Face your machines, use the same interact key you will later use on the rocket, and glance at the HUD so you can see EXP, cash, and the ABX icon. Bookmark the Guides Hub after the claim so you can jump back without hunting the wiki from memory.

Free dropper and the first 100 EXP

The manual dropper is free and slow on purpose. Each press (or tap) feeds the explosive. The bar you care about is EXP. Launching before 100 EXP wastes the scaling that makes later rockets worth steering. Stay on the pad until the explosive is ready, then carry it to the rocket. Community clips show new players buying an auto dropper around 100 cash once clicking feels silly; that is a comfort buy, not a power spike. Keep feeding the same explosive instead of starting a second one you cannot finish. Offline growth continues the fill while you are logged out, which is why a twenty-minute first session plus a break still produces a launch.

First launch and first cash

Interact with the rocket to load the ready explosive. When the Control prompt appears, fire. The warhead arcs toward the shared city. You can steer after launch; aim at buildings, not empty lots, because cash tracks blast size and EXP. Your first crater will look small. That is expected. Take the cash, walk back to the plot, and buy dropper upgrades before you plant a second machine you cannot staff. A wider walkthrough of steering, 100 percent wipes, and why fat warheads beat thin ones is on the launch guide. If Control never shows, you skipped the load step.

First upgrades, not a full factory

Early cash should deepen the pad that already works. Dropper upgrades can climb a long way later (players report levels into the 1000s), but your first hour only needs enough speed to hit 100 EXP without a sore finger. Fountain comes next when you want several explosives in the pipeline. Fuse is a side machine that eats an explosive and returns extra EXP after a wait; it is optional until the main pad is not starving. Do not save for the rebirth statue yet. Early shops list it near 1.5 million, which is many launches past spawn. Spend on fill speed, launch, spend again. The money guide is the longer version of this rule once numbers leave the thousands.

When to expand the plot

Plot expand is the first real fork. The dedicated walkthrough is how to expand your plot. It unlocks the nuclear dropper, the rebirth statue, and the poison dropper. Expand when you can actually place and upgrade those pads, not the moment the button lights up. The nuclear dropper is the late-game filler: early tags sit near 85k, it makes explosives fast, and it beats fountain, poison, and the free pad once you can feed it. Poison is unlocked in the same expand and still loses that comparison. The statue is the prestige door; ignore it until launches plateau. If expand would empty your wallet with no nuclear dropper left standing, launch a few more times first. Rankings for those machines live on the Tier List Hub.

Redeem BOOM before you waste crate boosts

Open ABX on the HUD (or scroll the shop to the bottom) and redeem BOOM before you smash a crate. The code pays Playtime Points and a crate. Crate boosts are easy to waste on a manual dropper that still needs a click per tick. Claim the code. Place lasting totems as soon as you have a slot. Park timed crate boosts until a session you will actually play — after nuclear exists, or after a rebirth has stacked money multipliers. Offline fill will not spend a duration buff. Fresh codes show up on the Codes Hub and on Discord. Type BOOM in capitals with no spaces. If redeem fails, you already claimed it or you still have a space in the box.

First-hour checklist

  1. Claim your own plot on the six-player server.
  2. Feed the free dropper until 100 EXP.
  3. Load the rocket, press Control, steer at buildings.
  4. Upgrade that dropper with the cash.
  5. Redeem BOOM, then leave crate boosts unopened.
  6. Expand only when nuclear dropper, poison pad, and statue space are the next buys.
  7. Log out if you need a break; offline fill continues.

If the hour ends with a small crater and a plot that still looks empty, that is a correct first hour. The free dropper is supposed to feel slow. Park the session, let offline growth tick, then come back for the nuclear dropper instead of rage-buying every pad in the shop. When the wallet finally moves, switch to the money and rebirth pages rather than repeating spawn habits on a factory that has already outgrown them.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What should I do in the first ten minutes?

Claim a plot, feed the free dropper to 100 EXP, load the rocket, and press Control. Redeem **BOOM** from ABX or the shop bottom before you open crate boosts.

When do I expand the plot?

Expand when you can place the nuclear dropper (about 85k early), and you want the poison pad and rebirth statue unlocked. Expanding into an empty wallet delays the pad that actually matters.

Should I use crate boosts immediately?

No. Redeem BOOM first, then save crate boosts for a nuclear dropper or a post-rebirth run. Boosting the free manual pad burns the crate on a weak tick.

Does the game keep filling while I am offline?

Yes. Explosives grow while you are logged out. Short sessions plus offline ticks are the intended first-hour rhythm, not standing on the pad for an hour.

Is this a single-player tycoon?

No. Servers hold up to six players. Bases are personal and the city is shared and online, not split-screen. Other launches can hit the same skyline you are steering toward.

What do I read after the first launch?

Use How to Launch a Nuke if aim or Control is confusing, How to Make Money Fast if cash is slow, and the Tier List Hub before you buy a second machine type.
