How to Expand the Plot in Nuke a City
When the land buy unlocks nuclear, poison, and the statue — and when you should launch a few more 100 EXP rockets first.
Plot expand is the first real fork in Nuke a City. The free pad, the fountain, and a handful of dropper levels will carry a first hour. They will not carry a factory. Expand buys land on your personal base so the nuclear dropper, poison dropper, and rebirth statue can exist as purchases. Further expands in long videos unlock later toys such as a plasma dropper. The city you bomb stays shared on the 6-player server. Only your floor grows.
This page is the land buy, not the nuclear upgrade path. After the dirt exists, spend order lives on the machines tier list and how to make money. First-hour habits stay on Getting Started.
What expand unlocks
Player reports and restart videos agree on the first expand package:
- Nuclear dropper — the late-game filler. Early tags sit near 85,000 cash. It produces high-quality explosives fast even if it starts as one-at-a-time.
- Poison dropper — unlocked on the same land. Looks mean. Still loses the cash fight to nuclear.
- Rebirth statue — the prestige door. Early shops list it near 1.5 million. Ignore it until launches plateau; see rebirth.
Later expands in 2026 clips add more slots and, in some runs, a plasma pad. Treat plasma as a “I already expanded twice” object, not a first-hour goal. Costs scale with the run. Public playthroughs show expand tags around 93,000 on a fresh climb and 280,000+ once the plot is already fat. Those are snapshots, not a patch table. Read the prompt on your pad.
VIP servers are not allowed. You cannot hide on a private lot to test expand. Buy it on a normal 6-player instance. Neighbors do not pay your bill and do not share the new pads.
When to buy the land
Expand when all three are true:
- The current best dropper is funded enough that 100 EXP launches feel routine.
- You can afford the land and still place nuclear afterward. An empty expand with no nuclear is a lawn.
- You are not one launch away from a crate boost or a BOOM redeem you have not typed yet.
Do not expand the moment the button lights up. Do not expand because a YouTube overlay said “SECRET BASE.” Do not expand as a panic buy after a thin crater. If nuclear would leave you broke, fire a few more 100 EXP rockets first. Offline growth will keep filling while you log out to think.
How to expand without wrecking the run
- Redeem BOOM if you have not. Playtime Points and the crate survive a land buy; they do not survive a sloppy crate pop on the old pad. Steps are on how to redeem.
- Launch the ready explosive. Do not walk into the expand prompt with a 100 EXP bag in hand if the UI might eat the interact.
- Interact with the expand pad or shop row. Confirm the cash tag. Buy once.
- Walk the new dirt. Buy nuclear before poison, fountain flex, or fuse vanity. Fuse help is on how to fuse.
- Upgrade nuclear. Then look at poison only if leftover cash is real leftover cash.
- Leave the statue dark until the upgrade planner says the plateau is real.
If a second expand appears, treat it like the first: land is worthless until the new producer is leveled. Plasma or extra statue copies in videos are late-run flex. They are not a reason to skip nuclear levels.
Expand versus rebirth, totems, and gamepasses
Rebirth wipes machines, cash, fuse chain, and layout. The land you paid for goes with them. Research stays. Totems from crates are a different layer — see the totems tier list. Do not expand five minutes before a statue press unless nuclear already paid for itself.
Gamepasses such as auto launch do not replace expand. Auto launch fires a rocket you already loaded. Expand creates the pad that fills that rocket faster. Buy land with cash. Buy convenience with Robux only if you already understand controls.
Mistakes that look like progress
- Expanding with no nuclear budget.
- Buying poison first because the skull looks “stronger.”
- Saving for the statue on the old tiny plot.
- Copying a 280k expand tag from a late video onto a new account.
- Using a script auto-buy that dumps the land purchase at the worst cash breakpoint.
Expand is a gate. Walk through it when nuclear is the prize, then go back to 100 EXP, Control, and the money guide. The city does not get bigger when you buy land. Your factory does.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What does plot expand unlock in Nuke a City?
The first expand typically unlocks the nuclear dropper, poison dropper, and rebirth statue. Later expands can add more slots. Full timing is on this plot expand page.
How much does expand cost?
It scales. Player clips show tags around 93k on a fresh climb and 280k+ later. Read the in-game prompt. Nuclear after expand is often near 85k in early reports.
Should I expand before I redeem BOOM?
Redeem first. The code is an account claim. Land is a cash sink. See how to redeem then come back to expand.
Does expand survive rebirth?
No. Rebirth wipes machines, cash, and layout. Research stays. Do not buy land you will delete in five minutes. Timing is on rebirth.
Is plasma dropper part of the first expand?
Long videos show plasma on later expands, not as the first land buy. Fund nuclear on the first expand. Rankings stay on the machines tier list.
