Nuke a City Updates
Launch, the May 2026 peak, and the quieter patch cadence that followed.
Nuke a City is released. The official Roblox listing is Nuke Your City by the Nuclear Fun group, live since 16 March 2026. It is a free-to-play Simulation / Tycoon on PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and Xbox, with 6-player servers, personal bases, and a shared city. This hub is the timeline, not a promise of a weekly patch.
Player-facing detail that does not fit a date line lives on patch notes. Codes live on the Codes Hub. The prestige wipe lives on rebirth. If you are here because a YouTube thumbnail said “NEW UPDATE TODAY,” check the date against the May peak and the mid-2026 slowdown before you rebuild a plot.
Launch: 16 March 2026
Nuclear Fun shipped the loop that is still the game:
- Dropper machines produce explosives.
- Fill a rocket to 100 EXP, load it, press Control, hit the shared city, take cash.
- Buy and upgrade machines (free manual dropper at spawn, then fountain, fuse chain, poison, nuclear).
- Rebirth into Research Points when the run stalls.
- Explosives grow offline so a closed client is not a dead plot.
The freebie badge NUKE YOUR CITY has been on the listing since launch. VIP servers are not allowed and have not been added later as a paid private plot. You have always been on a public 6-player instance.
Early coverage treated the game as a simple idle nuke joke. The systems that actually kept people in servers were plot expand (nuclear dropper, rebirth statue, poison dropper), dropper upgrades that players would later push into the hundreds, and research multipliers that make the next 100 EXP launch pay more than the last.
Peak: May 2026
Concurrent users peaked around 39,485 on 2 May 2026. That window is when most public code articles, launch videos, and “working script” posts appeared. BOOM became the one string every tracker could agree on. Visit count and favorites kept climbing after the CCU peak; by September 2026 the listing sat near 56.9 million visits, 1.3 million favorites, and about 98.3% rating.
A peak is not a patch. May is when the most people were in servers at once, which is why so many guides still read as if the game is brand new. If you joined after that spike, you did not miss a secret season. You missed a crowd.
After the spike: slower cadence
The Roblox listing timestamp moved again around 30 August 2026 and 3 September 2026 without a public numbered changelog. Treat those bumps as client/live-ops noise until Discord names a machine or totem change. Felt systems (nuclear, fuse, totems, offline fill) are on patch notes.
Through mid-2026 the public patch story got thin. Nuclear Fun discussed other projects around that stretch, and outside write-ups noted an apology for slow updates before attention moved. The experience still receives client bumps — Roblox listings show a last-updated timestamp — but those bumps rarely arrive as a numbered patch post with bullet points.
What did not get removed during the quiet months:
- Offline explosive growth.
- Rebirth into research (players still report about 5 points per wipe).
- The machine ladder, with nuclear as the late-game standout.
- The ABX / Shop code box, still redeeming BOOM as of September 2026.
- 6-player online servers. This is not a single-player shutdown and not a split-screen local mode.
What you should not expect from this hub: a fabricated weekly changelog. If we do not have a developer sentence, patch notes will say so and then describe what players felt instead.
How to read an “update” thumbnail
- Check whether the video is about Nuke Your City (this game) or another nuke tycoon / merge-nuke title. Names collide.
- Check whether the “new code” is still BOOM. Extra strings in May videos were often unverified.
- Check whether the “new machine” is plot expand content (nuclear, poison, statue) that has been in the shop since the growth months.
- Check Discord and X @jett_str before you trust a screenshot with no date.
Live promo strings still belong on codes. A real systems change belongs on patch notes. A rebirth question belongs on rebirth, not on a panic post that the game “reset everyone” because one person pressed the statue.
What is still worth playing for
The idle loop did not need a live-ops calendar to stay coherent. You can join a 6-player server, grow a plot, leave, come back to a fatter explosive bar, and launch. Research still makes the next wipe shorter. The nuclear dropper still outruns a row of early machines. Codes still exist even if new ones are rare.
Use this hub as a date spine: 16 March 2026 launch, 2 May 2026 CCU peak, mid-2026 public slowdown, September 2026 still-live listing with BOOM active. Then go play the current shop, not a rumored season pass that Nuclear Fun never posted.
When a dated developer note finally lands, it will be summarized on patch notes with the same honesty: player-felt first, marketing second. Until then, treat visit charts as history and the pad in front of you as the patch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
When did Nuke a City release?
16 March 2026, as Nuke Your City by Nuclear Fun on Roblox. It is out now on PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and Xbox. This is not an unreleased or upcoming title.
When was the player peak?
Concurrent users peaked around 39,485 on 2 May 2026. Visits and favorites kept growing after that. Peak CCU is not the same thing as the last content patch.
Does the game still get updates?
The listing still shows client updates, but public patch write-ups thinned after mid-2026 while the developers talked about other projects. Read patch notes for what players actually felt, not a fake weekly log.
Did a patch remove codes or rebirth?
Is this a single-player game now?
No. Servers are still 6-player online with personal bases and a shared city. VIP servers are not allowed. It is not split-screen.
